Polish Foundation for Humanitarian Aid „Res Humanae” was set up in August 1993 as a culmination of several years of efforts by a group of people engaged professionally and voluntarily in assistance and care programs for people living with HIV/AIDS as well as in AIDS prevention and AIDS awareness educational actions. At the initial stage the most important task for the founders was to create and establish the hospice care centre for AIDS patients. Therefore various forms of activities were undertaken focusing at raising funds. This enterprise transformed into the support of refurbishment and refitting of the Ministry of Health hospice and sanatorium centre established in Anielin near Otwock.
„Res Humanae” Foundation has the following main objectives:
- Promotion of humanitarian approach to the society and in particular focusing on human rights
- Assistance to people living with HIV/AIDS and other people in need of support
- Acquiring financial means for these activities
